The unfortunate combination of events in West Valley Utah. The owners of this rental property sent in two or three different handyman to try to diagnose and give them solutions to the leak that the tenant reported to them. The handyman were in over their heads didn't have good Solutions or recommendations and didn't recognize him report to the owner that they needed to do an insurance claim. Eventually when the owners called the insurance it was no longer covered it had gone on for too long.
We are working on a new water damage Cleanup in West Valley City Utah. Using a stick as a plug-in the sprinkler riser where they had is missing is not a good idea, it's asking for problems. As you can see the sprinkler head is right next to a window well and guess where all the water went directly into the window well. The unfortunate thing is they've only been in this home for about 2 weeks, they just barely bought it.
Exactly is this picture looks at least it's on the outside of the home. The home is for sale it's under contract and the appraiser notice this moss and possible mold and asked for and inspection. As long as the moisture is not penetrating into the wall this is not an indoor air quality concern, it's just normal maintenance. We will recommend scrubbing and power-washing the surfaces.
This is not a picture of poor housekeeping it is heavy set that is settled out of the smoke in a fire damaged home in Salt Lake City Utah. Obviously there was Heavy amounts of smoke and lots of damage everything that can be salvaged needs to be cleaned and deodorized thoroughly.

It's this damage that we've uncovered is not what the owner Estes here to look at but this property has had a history of ground water coming in through the exterior walls in two rooms. There's mold on the tack strip on the edge of the carpet and there will be mold in the bottom of the walls also.

The owner has to inspect this property and specifically this room because there was some bubble paint and a little bit of visible mold beneath the window in this room. The picture is showing the corner of the wall and the floor directly below the window and as dark as the base as dark as the tack strip is there's a lot of mold. It's not coming from the window though it's coming through the foundation.

The mold in this wall is very bad it's an example of what can happen when a wall gets wet and it's not able to breathe so it stays wet for an extended period of time and mold grows. People use plastic paneling, enamel paints and hygiene paints to make walls more resistant to moisture, but when moistures able to make it behind those surfaces the wall stay wet for a very long time.

This strip retail shopping center was soaked from a break in the large water pipe coming into the building for the fire suppression sprinkling system. It is a big job and lots of drying all while trying to do it as the businesses try to remain open.
